About Me

I believe people grow through feeling understood, accepted, and supported. Being invited into someone’s story, especially during vulnerable or difficult moments, is something I deeply value and never take lightly.

Many people reach out when life feels heavy, stressful, or harder to manage than it used to. You may be carrying a lot for everyone else while feeling like there is no room left for yourself. Maybe your mind is always “on,” patience feels thin, sleep is off, or you’re constantly trying to keep up while feeling drained underneath it all. Some people notice they become short-tempered, shut down, or feel stuck in survival mode. For others, these patterns are connected to earlier family experiences or childhood trauma that still shows up in how stress is handled today. Together, we can slow things down, understand what is fuelling the stress, and build ways to feel more steady, clear, and in control.

Relationships and family life can also bring people to therapy. This may look like frequent arguments, feeling misunderstood, struggling to communicate without conflict, or carrying resentment that keeps building over time. For parents, it may mean feeling overwhelmed, second-guessing yourself, navigating behaviour challenges, or wanting to break patterns that were passed down through your own upbringing. Childhood experiences within the family can often shape how safety, trust, and connection show up in adult relationships. Many people want to show up differently for their partner or children but are unsure where to start. Therapy can offer a space to strengthen communication, build healthier patterns, and create more connection at home.

Others come to therapy feeling frustrated by habits or patterns they cannot seem to break. This might include using substances, screens, anger, avoidance, or shutting down as a way to cope. Sometimes these behaviours began as survival tools during earlier life experiences, including difficult or traumatic dynamics, but no longer serve the life you want. You may feel disappointed in yourself, stuck in cycles, or unsure why change feels so difficult even when you want it. Therapy can help uncover what is underneath those patterns, build healthier coping tools, and support lasting change with compassion rather than shame.

Therapy can be helpful not only during difficult periods, but also when things feel stable and you want to build insight, strengthen relationships, or prevent old patterns from returning.

When we meet, the focus is on creating a steady, supportive space where you can slow things down and feel more grounded in what you’re experiencing. Many people come in feeling overwhelmed, emotionally drained, or like they are constantly reacting rather than responding. In those moments, we work on helping you pause, make sense of what’s happening internally, and find ways to bring more calm and clarity when things feel intense or out of control.

For people who feel stuck, burnt out, or like they’re repeating the same patterns, we spend time understanding what sits underneath those cycles such as what’s been carried for a long time, what gets triggered in the present, and what keeps things feeling hard to shift. From there, we focus on building practical ways to cope day-to-day, whether that’s managing stress, strengthening emotional regulation, or creating more space between impulse and reaction so you feel more in control of how you respond.

When relationship or family stress is present, we look at how communication is happening, where disconnection or conflict shows up, and what each person might be needing but struggling to express. This can include working on boundaries, rebuilding trust, or finding more effective ways to communicate without things escalating or shutting down. For parents, this may also involve navigating behaviour challenges, breaking intergenerational patterns, and finding approaches that feel more aligned with the kind of parent they want to be.

Throughout sessions, the aim is to create a space where people feel heard, understood, and not judged for what they’re going through. Over time, this often looks like more emotional steadiness, clearer thinking in stressful moments, stronger relationships, and a greater sense of confidence in handling life’s challenges, even when things are still difficult.
